Buying on the web - postcode rationing

  jack 12:02 01 Mar 2006

One of my flock -came on in a tizzy -because no metter which way she tried to buy the release code for a piece of software- the application was rejected because the postcode did not match the town.

Went over to have a look and sure enough not matter how assiduously the detail was entered The seller in being in the USA - we carefully entered 'Outside USA/Canada- UK as country of domicile
the application bounced.

So I dropped the address town, and inserted the post code town instead -that did it.
Now there are many towns[cities as they call 'em] in the USA/Canada with with the same name as the European original - do they all bounce like this I wonder?

This method seems to work at most times, but one problem can be through the possible change of post-coding in an area. The reply will still come back as 'Postcode Unknown'.
