Bus found on Moon!

OK a great headline from the slighlty pornograhic Sunday Sport!
But what's the best news headline from a newspaper you have seen?

Personally I always liked the classic one from WWII
"McArthur flies back to front" don't know what paper it was in though.

Regarding your choice of headline do you remember the next weeks edition headline. Bus missing from moon.

a local paper trumpeted the news with the headline:

"Book lack in Ongar"

Then there was:

"Super Cally Go Ballistic, Celtic are Atrocious"

after Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC beat Celtic in a cup game.

All of them pale into insignificance however, alongside the Classic:

"fog in channel,continent cut off"

I loved The Sun's splash when David Mellor was sacked: "from toe job to no job"

Of headlines I've written, I'm still proud of one I put on a dullish story in the FT about delays to some French rocket programme: "Rocket men think it's going to be a long, long time". Also, if you have today's Sunday Telegraph business section handy, one of the items in the diary column about M&S boss meeting Prince Charles to talk about emissions is headlined "Hot air to the throne" which is also one of mine. That got a round of applause on the desk when I wrote it yesterday.

But my all time favourite is still the Sun's classic "Freddie Starr ate my hamster".

Rushing to get it out on the street first can sometimes backfire on the journalist. Have a peep at these! :o) TC.
