Builders queuing at the job centres

The nations going to the dog's.
Building firm laying off workers,
New homes are stalled in half build state.
So the gloom merchants have us believe and as I look around by area it can be seem to be somewhat true - but entirely so- there is working going on on a 'brown filed siter across the road to me.
And yet- I have two projects to be carried out.
I initiated both in January and approved one in
March -Start Time?
Maybe end of May- The roof under felt needs replacing 'got a lot on at moment- said this one man firm.- Selected him because I saw his work nearby and checked his pricing.

Decided to have Bathroom re furbished - Bath out - ~Shower in tiling etc.
Having once more looked around and checked pricing - B&Q and their contracting firm seemed to be the best - reasonable 'fixed' pricing and no added on bits.
The survey came to price up middle March, the Technical man came soon there after- needed a second opinion re a drainage problem.
Came by yesterday with the 'drain man'. sorted what had to be there [added a bit more to the estimate price - of course]
When I asked when would they be coming-[Want avoid 2 gangs of herberts in at once - I mean builder's tea and digestives costs a fortune]
They reckoned 'Oh late July maybe August'
So they must have plenty of work on too.
