there have been many threads started on here about the best free software but what about the best software that you have actually bought? i would have to recommend intervideo win dvd6/7 and nero 6/7 as being the best of their type but would admit that power dvd and easy cd/dvd are very good alternatives.

PhotoImpact 11. How Ulead manages to produce such a high spec that almost rivals other products for £300+, but sell it for £50, I can't imagine. It must pay its coders peanuts!

Macromedia Dreamweaver and Flash, when they were first introduced. There was nothing to touch them as web development tools and, in some people's opinion, there still isn't. Pricey though!

DW costs as much as two of its biggest comptetitors combined. Not twice as good though.

For all things image wise in my opinion Photoshop is the best way out of most peoples budgets but the elements versions are still very capable programs.

There are a number of freeware apps out there thou that do just as well and paint shop pro is certainly a winner for the price.

Autodesk Maya... Fab!

Only downside is the sheer number of plugins and price!

When I bought DW and Flash, there was no competition that came anywhere near.
