I gave up trying to remove it from my mouse arrow after a minute. But then I am a bit thick.Nice how it works but as for keeping me happy for hours it would depend how empty the bottle was.

What a wonderful piece of educational software this would make if it could emulate a pedulum's motion under Newton's laws, ignoring friction.

One could look for variation of ....
(i) Times of full swing (=period) against changes in amplitude.

(ii) Ditto... against changes in size (=mass) of the bob.

(iii)Ditto... against changing the length of string.

(iv) Experiment to discover the longest period of a revolution for the bob to maintain unending vertical rotations around the fixed end of the string without the string going slack.

I'd like a stopwatch added to the graphics, and also a linked graph-plot from the readings. Finally...

(v)Why would be the period change in (iv) if the string were replaced by an equally light, thin, regid rod ?

Considering the huge volume of science s/w now generated I expect somewhere there is a Newton-oriented pendulum simulation. In younger days I'd have had a go at writing it myself.

Thanks Pine Man for making me think. W

Sorry about hiccups, I'm too much in a hurry. "(v) What would be..."

Educational software needs to be fun too, and what you just wrote almost put me to sleep.
