Seems that most parts of the UK will be battered by storms over the next 36 hours. And this could result in firework displays for the New Year being called off.

You should have been in South Manchester at 5-30 this morning! Sudden lightning and I've never seen so much water fall out of the sky at once. Couldn't see across the road and the drains were overflowing in less than a minute!
