It would seem we all over re-act to things we hear/read about. Me included.
It's human nature to become 'firghtened' about things we do not fully understand. After all if we understoud it fully it would not frighten us.
The music/film indusrty have yet to gome to terms with the NET. so they are scared. instead of trying to use it to their advantage, they are trying to stop others using it.
The music industry don't bleet on about people copying songs from the radio using a tape recorder (as much, anymore). but each and every day millions of tracks are played out over the air waves, for anyone with a radio recever to record.
I think that most bods, if they really like a film/CD enough go and buy the origianl. those who take/make a fake, knowingly (which is probably of poorer quality) would probably not buy the original if they had no other way of getting it.
The real problem is those small number who copy the original and then sell the copy as if it were an original. Those who buy it think they are buying the real thing, but arn't.
