30 Second Challenge

  Curio 17:05 03 Jun 2008

in the Daily Mail. Supposed to sharpen the brain. I have a go daily and zoom through the easy question. Intermediate and Advanced brings me down to a crawl. There is no way I can beat the time Specs. Maths is not my strong point and though I can stumble through these problems it is not possible for me in the recommended time. Anyone beat the system?

They melt my brain as well.

As you say, the first one I find pretty easy but the other two, well, I give up after a while.

Bit of a cop - out, I know, but me and the other half are generally in the pub when we do them so there are normally weightier issues to deal with......

I got the advanced one in about 30 seconds, obviously.

Oh, I was supposed to do the intermediate one as well. Didn't do that.

I did all three puzzles, drank a glass of water backwards and invented cold fusion.

Truth Test? :o)

  Pineman100 18:55 03 Jun 2008

I'm probably not quite so good at that one. :o(

The other half does this challenge and has done virtually all the Mail's crosswords and puzzles as well, long before I even open an eye.

Quite good fun, I did the first two in under 30 seconds with no problems, the advanced took about 45.
But then I spent two minutes looking for the answers....................

This is a classic catch 22 because no-one with the ability to do this in the time would read the Mail.

  Stuartli 10:18 04 Jun 2008

Sorry, but it's the people who read the Mail who are most likely to have the ability to successfully achieve the challenge.
