What can you get for $10?

Not much info available yet but could we be seeing the start of real global price war on technology?

My daughter spent some time in an African country (that I won't name). She told me that, in some of the outlying villages, people had installed porcelain flush toilets in their homes.

The only drawback was that the toilets weren't connected to a water supply, or to a sewer (as such things didn't exist). The toilets were simply for show.

I wonder whether the $10 laptops fall into the same category.

That reminds me...

A while back I spent 6 weeks travelling through Pakistan and one day I visited the house of a wealthy family and whilst there paid a visit to the "smallest room" and my eyes immediately alighted on the sight of a proper sit down toilet, my first for 6 weeks.

I was so intent on looking at this beautiful sight I didn't spot the squat toilet between the sit down toilet and the door.

My foot went straight down the drain and I twisted my ankle quite badly...

Under those circumstances, I think twisting my ankle would be the least of my worries!

"A while back I spent 6 weeks travelling through Pakistan"
