I have a Dell laptop using windows XP. Twice now on diiferent days sometime apart, the zoom level has just changed on its own. When trying to view websites using IE7 and Firefox the zoom level changes to 10% even when changed back to 100%.

At the same time outlook messages would zoom the other way.

I ran McAfee virus scan and spyware doctor but no virus etc. were found.

I checked the error log and that should no errors.

Rebooting the laptop clears the problem for now.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Are you sure you are not pressing rather to hard on the scroll wheel?

I do not think so, but will check if it happens again.

do I assume that clicking on the scroll wheel again would solve the problem?

thanks

Yes clicking again will put it right. Sometimes it is possible to bring in the zoom feature by extra pressure which clicks the wheel, try it.

I have tried doing this but pressing on the wheel just tabs through to other applications which are open.

Thanks
