zone alarm firewall and av problem

  jakag 10:44 30 Apr 2007

I have just installed zone alarm firewall and antivirus and it takes along time for windows to start and several programmes will not work properly including PSP.
On startup I get the following message
C:\PROGRAM~MYWEB~\bar\1-bin\MW SB.DLL that is missing
also it says hotmail is not protected.
Please make suggestions easy to understand
I am using windows xp and I was wanting to change over from norton to zone alarm, I think i have removed norton.

Can you use the system restore option to go back to before you removed norton.

Then download and run the tool from click here

Then when that is over, install the AV / Firewall yo want to install.

There is a 'stale' entry in the startup list of the msconfig utility that is trying to load the MyWebSearch toolbar, it cant find the file because, in all probability MWS toolbar has been removed.
Go into the msconfig utility > startup tab and remove the entry to MWS

There have been a few problems relating to the new version of zone alarm.
Once you have completely removed nortons and installed zone alarm, you may find that booting up will still take longer than normal.

The only problem now is that PSP will not work correctly, I tried adding the programme to the list in programme control but it would not accept it, I did not have much time to investigate further but will be looking again later tonight.
Thanks everyone for your help
