Zone Alarm Firewall

I've used Bullguard Suite for three years...it expires in four days. I'm thinking of going for freebies to save £44.00. I know Avast is good, I've used it before, I'm thinking of combining it with Zone Alarm as Comodo sounds too intrusive. Can anyone comment?

I've been using ZA with AVG for a couple of years now. No issues.

Recently upgraded to Zone alarm pro, through a promotion, but used the free version for many years, alongside Avast, without problems.

i found zone alarm slowed my computer down a touch. so i went for Commodo, and its excellent

Slowed it down...oh no..anyone else find that??

Zone alarm is rather resource hungry.Sometimes it can slow down your pc boot time by quite a bit as i found out.
I went for Comodo which was very good once it settled down past the allowing access of programmes stage.
Now on Vista with just my router firewall and the Vista one.
A router firewall is all you need. But if it makes you feel better there's no harm in having a soft and hardware one running together.

Decisions, decisions eh?. mrwoowoo...soft and hardware...please elucidate...sounds vaguely pornographic!!

I used the free version of ZA for many years quite happily, but switched to Comodo Firewall Pro (freeware) after discovering it's much superior.

It isn't intrusive other than it keeps a close watch on any seemingly unwarranted access requests.

Comodo also offers, amongst other products, an excellent Registry Cleaner, but I've stuck with Avast! as my AV as it serves me very satisfactorily.

Software firewall = one that you install on your pc from a download source or disc.
Hardware firewall = One that comes built into a router or other external device.
There.Nothing rude about that.(O:!

Surely you've heard of software and hardware?

Why does Comodo sound too intrusive if you've used another product for three years?

Hardly the stamp of personal experience.
