Zone Alarm

I have the free version of Zone Alarm installed

Two programmes are trying to have access to the internet
Live Update Engine COM Module
and IS Service
Can anybody tell me what these are and is it safe to grant permenant access?

The Live Update Engine COM Module - YES - as this is part of an anti virus program.

For the "IS Service" you will need to open ZAlarm and on the left edge select 'program control'

then look down the list of programs and click on 'IS Sevice'

Now look in the entry details on the bottom of ZA and this will should give you enough information to make a decision

If in doubt say NO

The live update is an essential part of the firewall.
I do not know about IS service, but you can try giving it permission and if you want to alter that permission go into the ZA control center and then program control and alter the permissions from their.

Many thanks for the advice.

Is Service transpires to be part of Norton Internet Security so Access is no problem.
