They are basically adverts. You could try turning off the alerts in your firewall to prevent the pop-up messages or use a HOSTS file to block the sites click here

Hi VoG
i have done what it says on the link you gave me, but im a tad stuck, says the following:

Note: this will overwrite (delete) the existing file, so if you have any custom entries in the file I would suggest copying these prior to updating the file. Then open the HOSTS file and paste your custom entries. Alternately you can use the below method that does create a backup of your HOSTS file.

But when i go to open the hosts file it comes up with a list of programs asking me which do i want to open it with. So am abit stuck on which to use.
Any help please.

7-zip should open it click here

Sorry VoG,
Not sure if you herd me correct.
Have opened the host zip already and done everything it said on the site, but when i come to just open the hosts file to add my own custom entries, i can not, it just come up with a list of programes.
Also when or if i can open, how do i put my own list of dodgy sites to it.
Many thanks.
