Yahoo Mail - cannot access inbox

  wags 15:19 01 Jul 2005

I've just set up a 'wired' network with a Linksys ADSL router/gateway which connects 2 PCs, both running XP Home SP2. My ISP is Pipex.

My son can access yahoo mail on his PC, and can get into his inbox etc with no problems. On my PC, however, I can log in to Yahoo Mail but there is no response when I click on the Inbox, address book, etc.

If I connect my PC to the USB ADSL modem, my problem disappears. I have 'googled' and it seems to be an 'MTU' value issue with my PC conflicting with the router (?). What is the best way to check the value in the Registry and change it and what value would you recommend. Also is DR TCP any good at assisting with this ?

Many thanks.

Does your PC connect to the net and happily surf all sorts of different sites?

It sounds as though you are looking at the "Stored" Yahoo page.

thanks for the response. However,I have now fixed the problem by lowering the MTU value in the registry to 1458.
