Just in case anyone wants to try the new sp2.Remember this is still a beta version. (but pretty close to the final)Been running it for a few weeks now with no problems.click here
i tryed it out and had nothing but problems with it missed the fact i had norton installed VS and Firewall and Quake 3 refused to work so i'm not looking forward to this service pack at all
sp2 has automatic firewall turn on and anti-virus,is this correct?.so is there a conflict with existing firewall and virus software already installed?Regards
spent long enough getting all the M$ spyware outta SP1, cheers anyway...
File Size 273MB I have more chance of winning the Lottery than downloading that.
I wouldn't say its the final beta, RC2 to come i think.
stalion, the sp knows you have an A/V and firewall turned on.You have the option to configure the xp firewall if you require, but having norton installed, I just turned it off.Old Shep, sorry bud, should have said, ( for B/B )
final version when released is going to be about80mb
From what I've been told (and what I do with my SP2 beta) is if you use a third party anti-virus and firewall, turn the MS ones OFF after the SP2 install to avoid conflicts.2nd Question (sorry fuzzyone)Can I download this newer version of SP2 and put it over the top of my older one???
SupaGaz,Don't see why not. There's also an uninstall option should anything go pear-shaped.
