XPSP2 final beta

Just in case anyone wants to try the new sp2.

Remember this is still a beta version. (but pretty close to the final)

Been running it for a few weeks now with no problems.

i tryed it out and had nothing but problems with it missed the fact i had norton installed VS and Firewall and Quake 3 refused to work so i'm not looking forward to this service pack at all

sp2 has automatic firewall turn on and anti-virus,is this correct?.so is there a conflict with existing firewall and virus software already installed?Regards

the sp knows you have an A/V and firewall turned on.

You have the option to configure the xp firewall if you require, but having norton installed, I just turned it off.

From what I've been told (and what I do with my SP2 beta) is if you use a third party anti-virus and firewall, turn the MS ones OFF after the SP2 install to avoid conflicts.

Can I download this newer version of SP2 and put it over the top of my older one???

Don't see why not.

There's also an uninstall option should anything go pear-shaped.
