I have put a new Hdd in my PC as the master and have loaded XP pro on it. Each time I power up I get a blue screen saying that windows has shut down to protect my PC and gives the following error message:-
0x0000007B (0xF9E49640, 0x00000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

Any ideas of what this means and what I can do to restore life to an otherwise dead PC?

tried that but still cant resolve the problem. In safe mode the PC gets as far as a MUP.sys driver then goes to the BSOD.

if you get BSOD in safe mode, more than likely a hardware problem.

is your fan on your cpu running, reseat all your components, RAM, video card,

or take out all pci cards and install one at a time ie sound card, usb card,
