XP will not boot from CD

My original XP Pro CD got broken so a friend of mine said that he would do me a copy of his copy.
Great I thought plus it had SP2 on it.
The trouble is that it will not boot from CD.
I have tried it on another PC but still no joy.
All the bios is set properly.
Is there anything else I can try?
Or can I some how make a copy of his CD to boot from.
I know the files are there by checking on another PC.

I believe making a copy of his is illegal. You may however use your friends Original CD to Start or Repair your installation, using your own XP Key as shown on the label on your case.

either the above or I had a similar problem you could use nlite ( click the link for my posting ) to copy his disk and use your own cd key should his cd not boot up your pc.
