when booting pc, screen gives a choice of 2 xp's. I chose the first and it gets me in. chose the 2nd and cannot find system. Is this something to do with my MBR. If so how do i delete the second choice. I had the instructions 3 yrs ago but lost them.

Invalid Boot paths
The traditional method of removing the invalid entry is to manually edit the boot.ini file, but XP provides an alternative method that eliminates the danger of manual editing by using the System Configuration Utility.

To Remove the Invalid Entry

Click Start > Run

type msconfig and click OK to open System Configuration Utility

Select the tab labeled BOOT.INI

Click the button labeled Check All Boot Paths

A dialog box will open detailing the location of any invalid operating system locations.

Confirm you want to remove the entry and reboot the system.
