XP Transfer Wizard question

  chrismuir 00:13 05 Sep 2007

Just got a new PC, ran the files and tranfer wizard to copy across my settings. Ran OK on my old PC, and the file was written to a Sandisk cruzer USB stick. But when I put it in the new PC and run the wizard, I select the USB key and click OK but it says it cannot find disk 1 and fails.

Should it work ok on a USB memory stick, or do you need to do a direct link between the two PC's? Is it possible to write the files to a CD and to import them that way?

Thats how I tried to do it. It goes fine up to the point where it starts to transfer the data, then a message comes up saying insert disk 1. Can't get past this. The file is definitely on the USB memory.

Transfered all files manually in the end.
