XP still freezing

  fonkets 12:25 03 Apr 2007

Hi. Having thought the problem had gone away, my pc is still freezing. The event viewer shows nothing at the time of freezing in both system and application.

The symptom is basically a frozen image on the monitor and ctrl+alt+del does nothing.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

What are you doing when it happens? Freezing is usually an overheating problem.

Are you doing anything in particular when it freezes or will it run for hours and then freeze.

Need a bit more info.

It just happens out of the blue. Sometimes when its left idle and other times when I'm working on it. It happens about twice a day.

When my dad's machine did this before, it was RAM problem. I changed the RAM over and it's worked fine ever since. click here and see if this finds any errors in your RAM.

Forgot to say RegCure comes well recommended, but check out reviews of any of the others before you use them.
