Hi to all,
My computer has recently been in for repair, where it had XP home reinstalled. How can I check to see if it has the SP 1 installed, and if not can I install this from my CD which I know has SP1 on the CD?
Can I re-install Win XP as in pepair?

Thanks to you all

thanks it seems that SP1 is not installed.
Can I carry out action as inital questions re-install XP or is there a repair function on CD?

another way to see if sp1 is installed is to look for the entry in control panel add/remove programs.

if you just had windows xp installed why would you want to reinstall it again? but yes you can perform a repair install.

Thanks Ravin,
Its along story. Just checked what you recommend, its not within add/remove programs.
How do I perform a repair to XP and add SP1 from my own CD? Will it add SP1?

when you boot from the xp cd and start the installation you get an option to either set up a fresh copy of xp or repair an existing version. choose the repair option. i think you'll have to press R. once setup is over you can install sp1 from your cd.
