Will Win XP run reasonably on a P3 450MHz with 256 Mb of RAM if I turn all visual effects and themes off?

It will run but slowly. If you can add more RAM I woyuld up it to 512 MB.

I ran XP Pro for a while with a Celeron 400MHz and then a PentiumIII 550Mhz CPU (both 256MB of RAM).

Now it's a PentiumIII 1GB CPU and the difference is marginal, although the speed has never proved a problem in normal use with any of the Intel CPUs.

I have put XP onto a 133Mhz CPU + 92Mbs Edo RAM(to obtain driver info for LAN card)it would have been faster to take the laptop apart to access the data, but it did work. :-))

Should run I ran retail copy of xp pro on Pakard bell AMD K62 550 without trouble but when I tried to transfer to Duron 600 on a Jetway board that a friend gave me when the K62 overheated due to a dodgy fan I had to flash the Bios to get it to run stable.
