XP programmes to Vista

Hi,

Curently have an old XP PC and looking at getting a new Vista PC.

Will the XP programmes I have, eg, MS student office, games, etc, be transferreable to run properly on the Vista PC.

Depends on the individual programs and their age. MS Office will be no problem. Let us have a bit more detail re the games etc. Someone else may have experience of them. Download and run Windows upgrade advisor which may be of use in identifying any software prroblems, even if you do not intend to upgrade your present machine. click here

Isent Office tied to the original PC

Student version has 3 licences ( up to 3 machines ! )

I do not know for sure, but XP has a compability mode (to run older programs), does VIsta have the same?.

I am running Office 2003 on 64bit Vista without any problems. Also installed a load of 3 - 4 yr old games. Only 1 wouldn't run.
