XP Pro trouble saving web passwords

  stannes 23:24 28 Mar 2003

Having got a new PC with XP Pro, I cannot get IE6 to remember my web passwords, despite checking the Autocomplete function in my personal settings. I tick the appropriate check box to save my password in the popup window when trying to enter a site but it is not remembered on the next visit.

Open IE, go to Tools > Options > Privacy, check your settings there.

You need to enable cookies. Try using the Edit button to enable cookies for a specific site first, to confirm that it works ok.

Better still, go to click here and use their excellent free password manager.

First, the bad. Cookies were allowed and passwords are still not being saved.
Now the good news. RoboForm works really well and has solved my password problem. Many thanks.
