XP Pro Password

Got an old pc that has XP-Pro on it, but is password protected.
Can not remember what the password is!
Anyways to get round it & be able to set a new password?

Go to Safe Mode and use the Admin account to change or delete the password on the other account. Hopefully the Admin account wont have a password, if it asks, just press Return without entering anything.

Since it's XP Pro, you can get an Administrator login box by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del twice at the login screen. Type administrator as the username and leave the password field blank.

If an administator password has been set then of course this will not help.

Cheers, will have a go at that.

If none of those options work try this method click here It`s not as daunting as you might think. The program can be downloaded from click here and there`s further instructions on burning the boot disk. Please note however that this is a last resort option and the author has a disclaimer. I have used this tool several times and quite recently with success on an ex-company machine running XP Pro.

My friend has returned the pc to the shop they bought it from who for a flat fee of £15 will sort it out.
