  Alwolds 19:35 03 Feb 2005

Occaisionally when using my machine all of a sudden the keyboard and mouse stop responding
and I have no other option but to do a hard boot to get it back up and running again.

Any assistance that you can give will be greatly apreaciated

Hi, are you using a cordless mouse? This sometimes happens if batteries are getting low.

No wired mouse & keyboard all is fine when first booted up I can connect to the internet and download email the when perhaps typing a reply it just stops.

Me again - random crashes/freeze ups are often the result of a loose connection or connections within your pc - could be just about anywhere. I suggest a thorough check of all connections.

I hope that is all it is - it did happen to me once.

This is the operating system freezing rather than a fault with the keyboard and mouse.

CAn be caused by

1. Virus

2. spyware

3. overheating

4. pagefile problems

5. memory problems

6. registry problems

First of all clear out all the temporary files use something like Crap Cleaner click here also scan for isues to clean the registry delete anything it finds and fix all issues (will not harm your PC)

Then run some good Anivirus and spyware cleaners.

Avast and the Microsoft antispy beta are good but the choice is yors if you don't already have any.
