xp load up

I have recently built my m8 a basic pc for home use. It now keeps restarting with a brief showing of a blue screen. Since this has happened i have tried various things, such as trying another video adapter and trying to boot up from another hard disk. I have also tried reloading windows onto the current hard drive but it stops at a blue screen with a 'STOP' error message. From this i have gathered that it is a hardware problem, but because i have not come across this before i don not know what to do next. Any ideas...urgent

What is the Stop message, what numbers do you get?

eg. 0x00000024 click here

another few things to note:
I cannot get to recovery console at all as the stop message appears before the xp disc can fully load up.
I cannot also get to boot to safe mode as the pc just restarts.
