XP Laptop not connecting to wireless router

  kimtrnc 06:52 04 Mar 2010

My laptop has been perfectly happy connecting thorugh wireless router (netgear) for several years. Main machine ( WIN 7) connected to router, and is definitely connecting to internet.
Laptop sees my network, but won't connect.
Any thoughts, please?

Have you right clicked the wireless icon and tried "diagnose and repair".

What is the wireless icon showing ? Has it a red cross through it ?

Try removing the existing wireless 'profile', which might have become corrupted, click here then go through the procedure to "Connect" again, entering any WEP/WPA key when prompted, and a new profile will be saved.
