XP internet problem

I have a laptop with Vista and XP on it, apparently while on Vista, some popups came up saying we had spyware, and my brother dowwnloaded the software it offered.

Obviously this is spy/adware. I killed it on Vista and the internet is working.

On XP, NOD32, SpyBot and AdAware have cleaned it all up, but I have a strange internet problem. Google loads up, but if you search for anything, it slows down and displays a blank white page. eBay works fine, and a couple of other sites do, but Instructables and more sites including PCA don't.

Any ideas? They all work on Vista.

If using IE7 you could try .Tools.Internet Options.Advanced and press reset.Or wait till tomorrow and try Firefox 3 it is being launched tomorrow.

Unfortunately those pop ups that tell you you have Spyware etc are almost invariably some sort of Adware/Spyware themselves and are notoriously difficult to get rid of.

Try.Tools .Internet Options.Security.Reset all zones to default.Do the same with Privacy.
