xp installation problems

I have experienced frequent crashes with XP Pro and the system has become increasingly unstable.
I have completed several repair installs with difficulty but the OS files are corrupted in transfer to the HDD. Other software seems to transfer OK. The XP is a Kosher copy I hasten to add!

I have installed a new HDD but the problem remains. I am using a Duron 1300 CPU with a K7
Triton GA-7vkml mobo. Is the problem more likely to be with the processor or Mobo or should I just ditch them both?

Are you showing ACPI errors in the avent log??
if this is the case the motherboard bios want updating, if you boot with only the graphics card and ram installed does it crash??

Try changing the ram, worked for me.
