XP Home v. Pro

The MS site says that Home has not got this:

Access Control – restrict access to selected files, applications, and other resources.

but Pro has.

My wife has a fear of acidentally "mucking up" the computer by altering my files. Does this mean what I think it does: that XP home allows unlimited access to all files by all users even if they are logged in on different accounts?

not as far as i am aware one profile can not access another without password etc personally i prefer pro because it allows so much more flexibility with regard to ones control on pc.

What sort of extra control do you get that I am likely to need? I wonder if it is worth the extra £40 or so.

"not as far as i am aware one profile can not access another without password"

Every account/profile can access every other account's files at any time if there is no password protection in place.

i did remark about password.

Does this mean that as long as the user logs in with a password the files cannot be seen or altered by another user?

I use W2K at the moment. I XP home different from this in that respect?

Every user can make his/her documents private so that only he/she can access them.

If they are not made private everyone can see/open/edit/delete them.
