i'm looking at buying a laptop and have seen some good deals. some have win xp home and some have xp pro....i'm not a business user and my needs are mainly media and internet. i assume home would be the semsible choice but if a system which has a better spec comes with xp pro should i still go for it?

shortened, the question is, are there any drawbacks to xp pro for the uses intended?

thanks in advance

Just co-incidence - but happy to help.

in my opinion pro has more versatility and gives many more options than home.

versatility and options in terms of what johnny?

flexibility in all sorts of ways but if you are not a proficient user it will not make any difference to you.

is xp pro much larger in file size then since it has these additional attractions for proficient users? am i gonna waste a lot of disk space?
