My second PC was a Dell Optiflex G1 and I had Xp pro successfully loaded. I did have a Pentium 1 400Mhz CPU and 4 Gb Hdd and 256RAM.I`ve come further since then(less than 12 months ago) and enjoy XP. Jonny Tub`s got the numbers right

i have had xp running on those bare minimum requirements before, it was the most boring painstaking experience of my life, not recommended at all

Thanks for the help. I think I'll stick with win98 until I upgrade to a new machine
