I'm using XP on my new PC. Things have run ok for the first week but the last few times I've switched off the PC, XP hangs up (freezes) on the 'windows is shutting down' screen. At first I thought it was just taking its time so I left it,half an hour later-no joy.I end up just switching off the power which I hate doing. Is this a known prob with XP??? How do I cure it???
Thanks
Paul

Shut down problems are well none in XP have you installed anythink new of late? have you checked the event log this might point you in the right direction you will find all this info on the forums,Google and Microsoft website.

I've downloaded the latest service packs from m/soft and also been advised to make sure I disconnect from Broadband before I power down. Tried a couple of power downs, worked OK.
Thanks folks.
