XP is D/L'ing multiple instances of same update.

So far my PC has downloaded about a dozen instances of the update KB835732. I have used auto update and then manual update. I downloaded it manually then restarted the machine, went back to the update website and it showed up as needing to be installed again! Is anyone else have this problem? It is a fairly fresh install of XP PRo (2 weeks ago). Ive updated it fully and this is the latest update i believe.

Ta in advance.

Try these, each time rebooting then checking if the problem recurs:

1. (Source - click here)

Open Explorer and navigate to Windows/System32 and rename (or delete) the folder Catroot2 to OldCatroot2. This changes the time stamps and makes Windows believe it has not tried to upload the updates before.

Type into CMD.

del /q "%SystemRoot%\System32\Catroot2\Edb.log

2. First d'load/save to your hard disk from - click here. Double-click on the file to install.
