XP disc check/computer not booting up

time laptop running XP (home). went to save a file to floppy and crashed. computer automatically restarted but 'checking file system on C' comes up and goes round in circles, starting windows then 'checking file.......'.
other message that appears on 'checking file... window is:
Volume serial number A8E5-E897
WINDOWS IS VERIFYING FILES AND FOLDERS...
\BOOTEX.LOG first allocation unit is not valid. The entry will be truncated.
Removing trailing folder entries from
\system volume information\_restore{9DE8165D-AF8F-428A-AD2A-69EE6A9E2C3D}\RP42
\WINDOWS\DUMP1791.tmp first allocation unit is not valid. The entry will be truncated.

can anyone help....... PLEASE!!!!

Hi, Can you cancel the disc check? If you can what happens. If it doesn't boot you will have to re-instal XP. (Hope you have the disc). Cheers, Bill

CANCELLING DISK CHECK NO GOOD. WON'T WORK IN SAFE MODE EITHER. DON'T HAVE DISC AS TIME DO NOT ISSUE UNLESS YOU PAY!!!!

IF REINSTALL XP WILL ALL BE LOST?
