Hi, I'm using xp pro and have avg anti virus working ok. I've installed various cleaning programmes like jv16 power tools, spybot search and destroy, errorguard, adaware and the pc crashes before any of these programmes completes.Any ideas? Thanks 2cv6.

Any error messages / codes?

Hi, no, nothing. The pc just quits and begins to start up again. It does this occasionally without using any of these progarmmes as well.2cv6.

Right-click on My Computer, click Properties, click the Advanced tab. Under Startup & Recovery click Settings. Under System Failure uncheck the box in front of Automatically restart.

You should now see a message on a blue screen when it crashes.

Hi again. Did what you suggested and jv16 powertools completed a cycle and I got rid of all the rubbish in the registry. Then tried spybot s&d and it crashed with the blue screen. Hi, I've printed off the instructions. Will inform you of any success etc. Many thanks. Can't do it tonight, up at 4, taxi driving.

The problem I think is you are working the CPU and it's going over the edge. "HEAT" try check how hot the CPU is getting there may be a system page in BIOS

Open control panel, click on administartive tools then click on event viewer then click sytem. Scroll to the event column and look for code 1075, also check for any errors in the type column.

Open control panel, click on administartive tools then click on event viewer then click sytem. Scroll to the event column and look for code 1075, this code normally causes windows shutdown. Also check for any errors in the type column.
