XP boot time

This is not a problem but I've timed how long it takes for my pc to bootup and its 65 secs (when the hour glass extinguishes). Its partly due to avira antivirus which takes no time at all for it load unlike my previous mcaffee. This seems quite fast to me but I would like to know how it compares. I have an amd3800, 2gb ram, xp pro and its in peak working order.

I do want to remove the account/user logo at startup which I need to click for it to continue to boot. Is this possible without xp logging me on as a default user ie. without my settings and only basic desktop icons? The pc is setup on a network with my vista laptop.

Managed to sort it. Used tweakui, auto logon tab.

To speed up the Xp boot time, I would suggest download the free app "bootvis.exe" this app will gather all necessary boot files altogether, we got over 30% better performance on the XP boot time.

For XP logging on without own personal setting just the default settings, you can try create a new user account with privilege you want from the control panel, users account.

Hpoe this helps!
