XP Boot Problem

  scooper 21:10 14 Sep 2007

After installing a new system board, the system pauses for about 90 seconds with the following on the screen
CLIENT MAC ADDR:00 11 09 A7 F2 6D GUID 00000000-0000-0000-000000000000
DHCP ......
The the following is displayed, before the system then finally boots correctly

Any ideas, XP seems to run OK

Could be wrong here, but seems like xp is loading it's generic drivers for the board.
Have you installed the drivers from the cd that came with the motherboard?

Yes, even downloaded the latest drivers from MSI

Make sure you are not trying to boot from a network device, in the BIOS

If you just added the new board and installed the drivers they could be conflicting with the old ones.

Can you tell us more about the pc?

PXE errors seem to be to do with remote booting of computers over a network.

You will have problems as a Drivers and settings are for the old board. You need to save and then do a cleane install and load the motherboard drivers from the CD that comes with the board

The drivers were downloaded from MSI, so I know they are upto date, I've also had to replace the HD, so its like a new machine.
I've just compared the BIOS to a simular build PC, and all that I need to do is put the BBS-0 RAID option as number one in the boot sequence, and all is now OK
Thanks for all your suggestion

Glad to hear you have it sorted
