Can somebody tell me how to boot from a xp disc, my pc will not boot under normall conditions

Go into the BIOS by pressing Del at startup then in one of the menus you can change the boot order. Just make sure that CD ROM is set to boot before HDD. Also make sure you have a genuine XP disc as some copies aren't bootable.

I think all you need to do is insert the cd and restart the pc following any instructions

If you get NTLDR Error message

Boot up from the Windows Bootable CD, then go to the Recovery Console (the
first Repair option you come to).

From the command prompt please type:

FIXMBR C:
FIXBOOT C:
COPY CDDrive:\I386\NTLDR C:COPY CDDrive:\I386|NTDETECT.COM C:BOOTCFG /rebuild

After that, please reboot your computer.
