Hi all

My friend just rung me and advised he just got a BSOD with XP Pro. He was trying to load the drivers for his new webcam.

Sys specs are WindowsXP, AMD643200, 200GB HDD

Now i know there is a way you can stop bluescreens, but i cant remember where you can stop windows having a BSOD. Can someone point me in the right direction

No its not that. There is somewhere in XP that you can tick (or untick) so that windows will not BSOD

Thanks anyways

You can't STOP Window having a BSOD.

It means it's totally crashed and is telling you what's wrong. What you can do is stop XP automatically rebooting at a BSOD so you can read the message but you can't stop a BSOD with a tick box, only by solving whats causing the BSOD in the first place.

Perhaps if we knew what the message was we can help.

Right click My Computer, Properties, Advanced, Startup and Recovery - Settings, System Failure - untick Automatically Restart.
