xp asking for password

its been asking for password when no password has been set this has been happening after running xp recovery, have tried to login through safe mode but same there,i used password recovery tool but it shows there are no password set
how do i solve this????

Try Removing Login Password

Go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Local Security > Double click Password Policy > Double click Minimum Password Length > Reduce it to 0 (No password required) then OK.

Then go to Control Panel > User Account > Your Account > Remove Password.

yes on classic view admin tools brings up 8 items
local security not in sight,

could it be ive got xp home you have pro maybe

thought i havent seen local security on my system

If the OP cannot log in to Windows how can he access local security?

Hi Ditch999 - you've got a very good point there. And yes wis I do have xp pro - didn't realise the difference.
