XP Activate pop-up

I activated my new copy of XP home this AM but am still getting an annoying pop-up from the Notification tray to the effect that "this copy of Windows must be activated etc"
The other reminders on the tray have disappeared as well as the one in All Programs. Can anyone come up with a way to get rid of it please?

Did you activate on-line or by phone?

Have you tried Windows Update?

Windows stores the activation information in two files in the c:\windows\system32 folder: Wpa.dbl and Wpa.bak. If those files are locked, or permissions are incorrect, Windows may not be able to save its activation information.

You might also want to check the following registry keys:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFTNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
(change Activation Required value to zero)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion
(change RegDone value to 1)

Boot into safe mode, click Start?Run and type regedit then check these values.

Sorry, I forgot to note that the above info had been ripped from another site.

I`ve been to Windows updates and collected quite a few. But I`ve just noticed that when I booted up just now the pop-up didn`t appear. I`m going to tick as resolved on that basis, but if it recurs i`ll be back.
