Hi all, My friend has a problem with his Xbox live Running windows XP, he is having problems getting his IP accepted, he uses an ethernet cable connected from a slave computer to his xbox, the main computer uses a BT hub and the slave computer runs off this with no problems, the xbox show that he is live but the IP address has failed, he then inputs the IP again but the xbox shows that the IP has failed again, can anyone shed some light on this problem? could it be a firewall stopping the IP being read?

Many thanks,

Baskerville

The firewall would be your first step Baskerville. Ensure the IP address is of the range: 192.168.0.0 which should be the prefered IP range of your network.

Many thanks for that,
