Wrong FSB Value?

  Jason Hobson 22:17 02 Jul 2003

Earlier I ran the 3DMark2003 as i was testing my new graphics card. When I noticed something on the results.

It says my FSB is 166Mhz. But when I baught the Processor it said that the FSB was actually 333Mhz.

In the bios setup the CPU External frequency is set to "166/33" and the Multiple is set to 12.5x

When i try to scroll down on the frequency the highest value it will go to is something like 200/37.

Can someone please explain if my FSB is actually set to 166 or 333Mhz, as I have noticed a little lack in performance since I put together the PC.

I have just got a 3000+ Athlon on a A7N8X MB 166 is the correct setting (according to the engineer who had to come out to fix my new machine).

that is correct. 166x2=333mhz. the internal clocks is 166, but the fsb is 333. the p4 400fsb runs at a 100mhz quad pumped fsb hence 400mhz..i think that is right

166 dual pumped bus
