Works 9 Calendar Problem

When I try to open the calendar I get a message saying Works cannot access one or more files it needs and suggests re-installing the programme. I have a Works 9 disk supplied with the computer (it's a Dell, just 2 months old) but when I put it in the DVD drive, nothing happens. Should I delete Works first and then re-install? I am reluctant to do this in case I cannot re-install.

why not go for it and if it fails use system restore?

That's a possbility, I suppose though perhaps a liitle risky.
