wordpad data lost

  square eyes 18:45 29 Mar 2006

i have a shortcut to a wordpad document on my desktop for general things that i want to make notes of, a bit like scribbling on scrap paper.

Ive just gone to it now and the page is empty!
I have no backup of it but ther were fairly important things on it.

I couldnt have deleted it cos its not in my recycle bin so i must have overwritten it somehow with a blank page. Im not so dum do have done this by mistake and its not happened before.
Is there anyway i can get the file back again using data recovery tools which only talk about recovering "deleted" text or data.
I use Win XP
Thanks for any help.

May be better than the previous. Scroll down to Handy Recovery at bottom of page
