Word 97 large fonts size?

I'm trying to make a sign. I'm sure there is a way to make the size larger than 72 by just entering the number, but I can't get it to work now :-(

In the font size box, highlight the largest number (72) and type in any size. Test it at 144 and see what happens.

Just type the size you want into the font size box, I think that works in Word 97.

Thankyou both, I wasn't pressing Enter!!

Glad you got it sorted.

You can go all the way up to 999 point (13.875 Inches high) if you want.

To save yourself the trouble of typing in numbers to change the point size, if you highlight the text and use the "Control + [" key combination (without the quotes) the text size will increase by one point per key press. Use the "Control + ]" key combination (without the quotes) to decrease by one point per key press.

This is usefull if you are trying to fit some text exactly into a particular space.
