Word 200 and Windows XP

Could anyone tell me if my Word 2000 will run under a Windows XP system? I'm looking to replace my Win Me system but would like to transfer my Word 2000 rather than buy a newer copy.

Yes it works fine under XP

Agree with bremner. My son's Laptop has XP Home and Office 2000 working just fine.

It may be illegal (if I have accurately read and understood recent PCA articles on similar matters?!), but it is possible. I have tried and apart from occasional flashing of the title bar (any ideas why anyone??) all seems well. I get nervous sending error reports to MS now though - need I/is a summons on its way?

?!? Illegal !?!

It is in no way illegal to retain existing software when upgrading your O/S

RPP123. No, nothing to worry about it's perfectly legal to use older versions of Office on new Operating systems. :o)

Thanks for all the replies, everyone. Much appreciated.

RPP123 it flashes because of norton.go into norton, miscalleneous and uncheck office plugin,it won't flash any more

Thanks for the reassurances all, but can I ask bananaslik (or anyone else) how I will keep my Microsoft Office docs safe if I uncheck office plugin? Is this an unnecessary safeguard?
